Tubi is partnering with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat on four new original, creator-driven films. The agreement with Hartbeat marks Tubi’s first-ever exclusive creator content slate under its Tubi for Creators program.
Key Takeaways
- Under the Tubi for Creators program, an expanded partnership with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat will result in four original creator-driven films coming to Tubi next year.
- Two of the announced films are Sundown, a supernatural thriller, and 85 South: Dead End, a satirical horror-comedy.
- The program has rapidly expanded to include high-profile creators like MrBeast and CelinaSpookyBoo, and aims to support diverse voices and fresh storytelling.
The Tubi for Creators program launched in June, and as a way for Tubi to bring new content to its platform while also supporting content creators in new ways.
Soon after the launch, the program saw its first major expansion through the addition of a number of other creators, including Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast), Alan’s Universe, Jomboy Media, CelinaSpookyBoo, and Steven He, among others.
As part of the same program, four new creator-driven films are set to make their debut on Tubi. The new movies include Sundown, a supernatural thriller starring Kinigra Deon, and 85 South: Dead End, a satirical horror-comedy featuring DC Young Fly, Chico Bean and Karlous Miller.
- Sundown – a supernatural thriller following a group of Black college friends who take a wrong turn into a racially hostile town where local myths turn terrifyingly real.
- 85 South: Dead End – a satirical horror-comedy about a Southern road trip gone off the rails in a mysteriously offbeat town where no one ever leaves.
While Tubi has confirmed four new movies are coming under this partnership, the two additional titles are due to be announced at a later time.
“This first slate of exclusive titles under Tubi for Creators is an exciting milestone, and partnering with Hartbeat ensures we’re working with top-tier talent and voices that truly reflect our diverse audience,” said Rich Bloom, General Manager, Creator Programs & Executive Vice President, Business Development at Tubi.
From the creator and Hartbeat perspectives, the partnership makes it possible for their content to reach Tubi’s ever-growing and highly-engaged audience.
“Through this partnership with Tubi, we’re excited to give talent like Kinigra Deon, DC Young Fly, Chico Bean, and Karlous Miller the space to bring their authentic voices — and their audiences — to a global streaming platform that celebrates creator-driven storytelling, delivering smart, funny, and fresh films that reflect the culture,” said Jeff Clanagan, President and Chief Distribution Officer at Hartbeat.
