2024 was a good year for Tubi, with the free streaming service confirming that its total number of monthly active users surpassed 97 million. Considering the service ended 2023 with 78 million monthly active users, Tubi managed to add almost 20 million more over the past twelve months.
It was not just the number of active users that increased. Tubi also confirmed that more than 10 billion hours were streamed on the platform during the calendar year. This compares to the 8.5 billion streaming hours Tubi reported for 2023.
“Tubi’s momentum is growing as audiences increasingly value a premium entertainment experience that is also 100% free, fun and reflective of culture,” said Anjali Sud, CEO of Tubi. “Our strategy is simple yet powerful: put viewers first by offering unique stories from unique storytellers, a vast selection of content to choose from and a delightful experience across devices. We let our viewers guide us and obsess over their engagement, and we are seeing the results.”
Tubi has also been slowly expanding its catalog over time and now claims to offer the “world’s largest content collection.” Tubi’s library now features more than 275,000 movies and TV episodes, including more than 300 ‘Tubi Originals.’
Speaking of which, Tubi also says its original programming is continually proving popular with users. Nearly 1 in 4 viewers have watched a Tubi Original, according to Tubi, and Sidelined: The QB and Me, appears to have proven particularly popular with viewers.
In spite of being released in November, the young adult movie is already being credited as having brought in “more viewers of any title in Tubi’s history in its first week” as well as “the most new viewers for any Tubi title ever.”
