The TV5MONDEplus app is now available on Comcast‘s Xfinity and Xumo streaming devices, including Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex, Xumo Stream Box and Xumo TV devices.
TV5MONDEplus is the streaming app home of TV5MONDE, the popular French-language entertainment network. As this is a network app, it does require authentication with a live TV package that includes TV5MONDE and provides TV Everywhere support for the network.
Once authenticated, users of the app can expect access to 1000s of titles, including classic French dramas, comedies, and thrillers, as well as new French TV shows. TV5MONDEplus is also home to a variety of French lifestyle and art-de-vivre, documentaries, and kids shows.
In addition to French, the TV5MONDEplus app provides subtitles in other languages, including English, Spanish, German, Arabic and Romanian.
“Our goal at TV5MONDE is to continue building and harvesting relationships that allow for the expansion of French-language programming in the U.S., and this deal not only expands our relationship with Comcast beyond cable, but also allows for the amplification of these great stories – across genres, from sports to lifestyle, documentaries, comedy and drama – to an even bigger audience,” said Patrice Courtaban, TV5MONDE EVP Global Growth and Business Development, CEO TV5MONDE USA.
The availability of TV5MONDEplus follows June’s arrival of the Fubo app, which is also now available on Xfinity Flex, Xumo Stream Box and Xumo TVs.
For those without an Xfinity or Xumo streaming device, TV5MONDEplus is available on a variety of other platforms, including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku streaming players and smart TVs, as well as Samsung and LG smart TVs.
