With Christmas fast approaching, Vizio has now announced its Winter Watchland collection for 2022, providing SmartCast TV users with a variety of holiday-themed movies, shows, and exclusives to watch. As is typically the case with Vizio smart TVs, users won’t have to do anything other than visit the SmartCast home screen to see what’s on offer.

Modern Vizio smart TVs run on SmartCast, the company’s own operating system, making them different to smart TVs powered by Android TV, Fire TV, or Roku OS. One of those differences is access to exclusive content with WatchFree+ a prime example. This Vizio streaming service offers users access to a variety of movies and shows that are available to watch for free. Another of the differences is Vizio’s themed collections.

Just in time for the festive period, Vizio is relaunching its Winter Watchland collection. For those that owned a Vizio smart TV this time last year, they may remember the launch of the company’s 2021 Winter Watchland experience which included a collection of over 500 hours of free holiday-themed content. As part of this year’s Winter Watchland experience, the home screen will feature a new Seasons Greetings carousel that highlights available holiday-themed content spanning categories including comedy, romance, kids, family, and music.

In addition to the on-demand content, WatchFree+ also houses a vast selection of live channels that users can tune in to at any time, including holiday channels. For example, the Vizio Holiday Movies Channel (channel 199) plays 24/7 holiday movies, while the Vizio Fireplace Channel (channel 502) could be a great way to add some extra festive atmosphere to the room. For those that still haven’t found anything to watch, the WatchFree+ On Demand Holiday Hub will be featuring a collection of 50+ holiday movies.

Some of the new for 2022 movies that WatchFree+ users can look forward to streaming include A Unicorn for Christmas, Christmas Lucky Charm, Christmas on the Slopes, The Christmas Spirit, and Santa’s Got Style.

Typical of Vizio’s themed experiences and collections, SmartCast users will find a lot of this year’s Winter Watchland content will be advertised on the home screen with clickable banners acting as shortcuts. Of course, they can also just open up the WatchFree+ app to see what’s available to watch live and on demand during the holidays.
