New Vizio TV Purchases Come With 30-Day Discovery+ Free Trial

New Vizio smart TV purchases currently come with the ability to take advantage of a 30-day Discovery+ free trial. Although the longer than usual free trial is not a reason to go out and actually buy a new smart TV, it is worth being aware of the limited-time promotion if planning to pick one up within the next few months.

Discovery+ is not a particularly expensive streaming service. The standard subscription costs $4.99 per month and brings together content from a number of popular network. If wanting to upgrade to an ad-free streaming experience then the price increases to $6.99 per month. However, the standard Discovery Plus free trial is only for seven days, and this is irrespective of whether a consumer decides to go with the ad-supported or ad-free plan.

If planning to buy a new Vizio SmartCast TV in the next few months, there is the opportunity to sign up to Discovery+ with a longer 30-day free trial. According to Vizio, the new TV needs to be purchased and registered before signing up to Discovery+ as the TV owner will need to use a promotional code that’s received via email after registration to activate the longer free trial. The promotion officially went live today and will remain in effect up until October 22, 2022.

Discovery+ utilizes automatic billing, meaning the subscriber is automatically charged the monthly subscription cost once the free trial is over. Due to this, consumers will need to manually cancel the Discovery Plus subscription before the end of the 30 days if they don’t plan on remaining subscribed to the service. If the plan is to continue watching Discovery+, then no additional action will be required and the user will simply be charged an amount based on whether they opted for the ad-supported or ad-free plan.

If new to Vizio TVs in general, it is also worth noting that the company’s SmartCast TVs also include WatchFree+. This is a free streaming service that offers access to select movies, TV shows and Vizio exclusives. In fact, Vizio recently confirmed that the WatchFree+ content library had been expanded and now provides access to more than 5,000 titles.
