Vizio has launched a new ‘Sports Zone‘ hub to make it easier for smart TV users to find live sports events and related programming. Similar to other hubs, Sports Zone make content discovery simpler by bringing programming links from various streaming apps together in the same place.
The new Sports Zone hub is available beginning today and can be accessed directly from the Home screen. Once in the hub, Vizio TV users will see a selection of live and upcoming games that are available to stream and organized by sport.
The hub includes content from various professional and collegiate leagues including NFL, NCAA Football, MLB, NBA, NHL, WNBA and NCAA men’s and women’s basketball.
Once the user finds something to watch, they will be able to see the apps where the sports content is available to stream and click through to the service to begin watching. Vizio users are also able to save upcoming events to their watchlist, effectively creating a personalized sports schedule in the process.
If adding a sports event to the watchlist, the event will then be available to access directly through the new Games Sports Watchlist row within Sports Zone, or through the My Watchlist row on the Vizio Home screen.
With fall just around the corner, Vizio has launched the new sports section in time to ensure sports fans can maximize the feature during the fall sports season. It also follows The Women’s Cup Summer 2024 Games, which was available to watch for free last month on Vizio‘s free streaming service, WatchFree+.
With WatchFree+ now seemingly getting more involved in live sports, Vizio TV users can also expect to see future live sports programming shown live on WatchFree+ to be highlighted in the new Sports Zone hub as well.
