Philo’s base ‘Core’ package costs just $28 a month, making it significantly cheaper than many other live TV packages, including DirecTV’s MyEntertainment. As is the case with other DirecTV subscribers, MyEntertainment subscribers get access to more than 70 premium channels, more than 100 additional FAST channels, and a stocked library of on-demand content.

DirecTV’s new MyEntertainment Genre pack costs $35 a month, also making it cheaper than many other live TV packages, including DirecTV Stream’s Entertainment, Choice, Ultimate and Premier plans. However, most is not the same as all, and some homes may find that the DirecTV’s MyEntertainment package offers a more suitable lineup for their specific needs.

As a result, those signing up to the MyEntertainment package are saving an additional $$21 each month on additional content.

In contrast, Philo subscribers only get access to AMC+ as part of their package. Once again, this is the ad-supported version of AMC+, resulting in a saving of $6.99 a month.

Choosing Between DirecTV MyEntertainment And Philo

When taking into consideration, the price, the channel lineups, and included add-ons, we would recommend Philo over DirecTV’s MyEntertainment package. At $28 a month, Philo’s Core plan offers better value overall in our opinion.

Even though the MyEntertainment plan comes with more streaming services included, they are only useful if interested in these services. Not to mention, the $7 saved each month with Philo could be used directly against the cost of the subscriber’s preferred streaming service.
