Spectrum TV Customers Can Now Watch In 4K On Apple TV 4K And Roku Devices

Spectrum TV customers using Apple TV 4K and select Roku devices now have the option of watching select content in 4K in the Spectrum TV app. The upgraded viewing experience has been made available as part of a wider effort by Charter to expand 4K support to more platforms.

The first device to offer 4K support to Spectrum TV customers was the Xumo Stream Box. However, with Apple TV 4K and 4K Roku devices now supported, many more Spectrum TV customers will have the option of streaming in the higher resolution.

“With the addition of Apple TV 4K and Roku, more Spectrum customers can enjoy the clarity that 4K brings, all within the Spectrum TV App,” said Elena Ritchie, Senior Vice President, Video. “Viewers can experience their favorite 4K live events with stunning picture quality, vibrant colors, and razor-sharp detail, making their viewing experience more immersive and enjoyable.”

As to be expected with 4K, the availability of support doesn’t automatically mean all content will be available in the higher resolution.

Instead, Charter has been working in collaboration with programming partners, including ESPN, FOX and NBC, to offer the enhanced viewing experience when 4K content is made available by the network.

For example, some of the programming that Spectrum TV customers will be able to watch in 4K over the coming weeks includes:

• ESPN College Football’s 4K Game of the Week (as well as select games throughout the season)
• FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff (select Saturdays during the college football season – check local listings)
• Syracuse vs. Notre Dame college football (Nov. 22 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC)
• Indiana vs. Purdue college football (Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC)
