  • DirecTV is offering a free preview of the Movies Extra Pack from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3, unlocking access to additional entertainment, movie, and specialty channels.
  • No action is required to start or end the preview with channels automatically unlocked during the free period.
  • Customers can opt to keep the Movies Extra Pack for an additional $9.99/mo following the end of the free preview.

DirecTV‘s free preview of Movies Extra Pack started today (Jan. 28th) and continues through next Tuesday (Feb. 3rd). During this time, DirecTV customers get access to the following channels at no additional cost.

  • Crime + Investigation
  • Hallmark Family
  • Hallmark Mystery
  • HDNET MOVIES
  • INSP HD
  • MTV Live
  • ShortsTV
  • Smithsonian Channel
  • Sony Movies

All of the Movies Extra Pack channels listed above can be found in the live guide on channels 564-573.

As this is a free preview there’s nothing for existing DirecTV customers to do to access the additional content other than tune in to one of the live channels and start watching.

Likewise, DirecTV customers also won’t have to do anything when the free preview ends, with access to the channels automatically removed again following the free period.

For those that would like to retain access to any or all of these channels after the free preview, Movies Extra Pack can be bundled with any of DirecTV’s Signature Packages for an additional $9.99 a month.

In addition to the channels, Movies Extra Pack subscribers also get access to Peacock Premium at no additional cost, unlocking access to even more movies, TV shows, sports, and Peacock Originals.
