A new and more powerful Apple TV player is now expected to arrive later this year. While Apple has yet to officially confirm the new device, the existence of the new player appears to have been accidentally revealed, and by Apple itself.

It wasn’t just the existence of a new Apple TV player either. As MacRumors explains, Apple accidentally included hardware identifiers linked to various unannounced products in software code.

All of which seemingly confirms the upcoming arrival of a range of new hardware products, including a new Apple Studio Display, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, HomePod mini, iPad mini, and a new low-cost iPad.

While the details on the new Apple TV player are still light, the leak seemingly confirms that it will be powered by an A17 Pro chip. Considering the current Apple TV 4K is powered by an A15 Bionic chip, the inclusion of an A17 Pro processor is expected to result in some major performance improvements.

The report from MacRumors suggests that the inclusion of the A17 Pro chip could also open the door for Apple Intelligence support, and potentially the ability to run console-quality games.

Unfortunately, the leak didn’t provide any additional information on the new device, including the likely price, or when it is expected to be officially announced.

Well, other than ‘later this year.’
