What You Need to Know

  • Streaming subs fell to 10.1 million, down 300,000 on the previous quarter and 100,000 on the previous year.
  • Not included in the 10.1 million is the hard‑bundle ad‑supported AMC+ activations, which surged 200% to 1.8 million.
  • While subscription revenue was down 3%, due to affiliate revenue dropping 16%, price hikes helped streaming revenue climb 11%.

AMC Global Media ended 2025 with 10.4 million streaming subscribers. Following the confirmation of 10.1 million at the end of the first quarter of 2026, AMC lost around 300,000 subscribers during the first three months of the year.

On a year-over-year basis, the losses were smaller. After reporting 10.2 million subscribers for first quarter of 2025, the company lost around 100,000 subscribers.

In spite of the losses over the past quarter and year, AMC Global Media did note that ad-supported AMC+ activations through hard-bundle agreements had increased to 1.8 million by the end of the first quarter, a 200% year over year increase.

AMC made a change last year that excluded subscriptions generated through hard bundles. Due to this change, the 1.8 million ad-supported AMC+ activations are not included in the 10.1 million subscriber total.

The company reported $305 million in subscription revenue, a decline of 3%. According to the company the decline was the result of a 16% drop in affiliate revenues.

In contrast, streaming revenues increased to $174 million, an 11% increase, which the company says was fueled by the recent price increases across its services.

As a reminder, AMC Global Networks is currently running a promotion which reduces the cost of a the first year of AMC+ down to just $29.99.

As the discount is for the annual ad-free plan, those signing up through the promotion save more than 70% on the usual cost.
