AMC Networks is no more. The company has opted to rebrand as AMC Global Media, resulting in the dropping of ‘Networks‘ from its name.

  • AMC Networks has rebranded to AMC Global Media to better reflect its shift away from a network‑centric identity.
  • The new name signals a broader, multi‑platform focus, emphasizing AMC’s evolution into a global media company.
  • With services like AMC+, Acorn TV, ALLBLK, HIDIVE, Shudder, and Sundance Now, streaming has become increasingly central to the company’s strategy.

While AMC Networks clearly placed an emphasis on networks, that’s become a less important part of the business in recent years.

The adopting of the new AMC Global Media name is designed to better reflect the current landscape and AMC’s continued focus on other platforms.

In particular, the company highlights how streaming has become an ever increasingly important part of the business, and seemingly one of the main driving forces behind the decision to rebrand.

Our new name reflects the ongoing transformation of our business into a global media and studio-driven company, with streaming out front as our leading source of domestic revenue,” CEO Kristin Dolan said in a statement to multiple outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter

In addition to AMC+, AMC Global Media also operates Acorn TV, ALLBLK, HIDIVE, IFC Films Unlimited, Shudder and Sundance Now.

While the rebrand clearly highlights how streaming has become more of an influence on the company, the change in name isn’t necessarily designed to downplay the company’s networks.

Instead, it is more designed to reflect how the company now operates on multiple fronts and platforms.

AMC Global Media produces and curates high-quality content and distributes it to viewers around the world through a variety of platforms and partnerships,” Dolan added.
