AMC Global Media has confirmed AMC channels will be coming to YouTube TV‘s cheaper genre-based packages. While confirmed, exactly when, or which specific channels will be available, has yet to be announced.
What You Need to Know
- AMC has renewed its distribution deal with YouTube TV.
- As part of the new deal, AMC plans to bring its linear networks to the service’s cheaper genre‑based packages.
- The update arrives alongside AMC’s confirmation that the Walking Dead franchise will stream on both AMC+ and Netflix starting in 2027.
YouTube TV launched its genre-based packages earlier this year, as cheaper alternativew to the service’s main base package.
The $54.99/mo Entertainment Plan, for example, provides access to a wide variety of entertainment channels, including Adult Swim, BET, Bravo, Comedy Central, Discovery, FX, Hallmark, MTV, Paramount, and TLC, among others.
Notably missing from this lineup, and the other genre-based packages, are the AMC portfolio of channels. However, that is changing.
During its second quarter 2026 earnings release this week, AMC confirmed it recently renewed its distribution agreement with YouTube TV.
As part of that new agreement, AMC confirmed its channels are expected to be added to YouTube TV’s genre packages.
“Significant affiliate activity, including recent renewals with Comcast and YouTube, that includes the distribution of our linear networks, streaming services and FAST channels in addition to the future launch of our networks in YouTube TV’s genre packages,” AMC Global said.
With AMC only stating they will become available as part of a future launch, it currently remains unclear which networks will be added to which genre packs, and when.
In follow-up comments during AMC’s earnings call yesterday, CEO Kristin Dolan confirmed the new renewal also covers distribution of the company’s linear networks, streaming services, and FAST channels.
“Our new long-term agreement with YouTube includes the distribution of our seven streaming services, five linear networks, and many of our FAST channels, as well as the future launch of our networks in YouTube TV’s genre packages,” Dolan explained.
During the same earnings release, AMC also confirmed the entire Walking Dead franchise will be available to stream on both AMC+ and Netflix beginning in 2027.
Thanks to this agreement, the original The Walking Dead series will be available to stream on AMC+ for the first time, and Netflix will become a permanent home to all spin‑off shows and seasons.
