Apple already enjoys a good relationship with Formula 1, and especially following the success of the Apple Original Films F1 The Movie. This latest deal looks to build on that relationship and further help fuel the growth of F1 in the U.S.
“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and offer Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. front-row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services.
As part of the deal, Appel TV will offer comprehensive coverage of Formula 1, including all practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix.
While Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+) subscribers will get access to all of this content at no additional cost, Apple has confirmed select races and all practice sessions will be available to stream in the Apple TV app without a paid Apple TV subscription.
In addition to a greater prominence on Apple TV, Apple has confirmed Formula 1 will also begin to become more visible across many of its other services, including Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, and Apple Sports.
As an example, the free Apple Sports app for iPhone will feature live updates for every qualifying, Sprint, and race for each Grand Prix. This is in addition to real-time leaderboards, season driver and constructor standings.

Another notable change as a result of this agreement is that F1 TV Premium will continue to be available but only with an Apple TV subscription.
Basically, it looks like Apple TV subscribers will get access to all the features and benefits of an F1 TV Premium subscription at no additional cost.
