Vizio has now announced an upgrade to its smart TV and streaming platform, SmartCast. The announcement was made during this year’s CES event in Las Vegas where the company also unveiled its 4K HDR Smart TV collection for 2020.

Roku TV and Roku player users are no longer able to add the AT&T TV channel to their device. Considering AT&T TV and AT&T TV NOW are both added to Roku devices through the same channel, this affects subscribers to both services equally.
Netflix subscribers no longer have access to the popular sitcom, ‘Friends.’ The removal of all ten seasons of the show means Friends cannot currently be streamed via a subscription service. The unavailability of Friends will change later in the year when AT&T and WarnerMedia launch the new HBO Max streaming service.

Comcast is reportedly in talks to purchase the free live TV and on-demand streaming service, Xumo. Comcast also owns NBCUniversal. With NBCU planning to launch a new Peacock streaming service in 2020, it could be the case Xumo becomes part of Comcast and NBCU’s grander Peacock plan – should a deal be finalized.

Sling is now providing all of its live TV subscribers with 10 hours of cloud DVR for free. Previously, cloud DVR was only available as an add-on with Sling. This follows on from Sling announcing a price increase that affects all of its subscribers.
