It is fairly easy to cancel a Paramount Plus subscription, but the exact instructions depend on the device used, and whether the subscription was created through Paramount+ or another service. Understanding these two points can help to ensure a Paramount Plus subscription ends when it should, and the consumer does not end up paying more than they want to.

Paramount+ launched in early 2021 and provides consumers with a way to stream a variety of shows and movies from the ViacomCBS archives, making it a much richer option than Paramount Network. With plans starting at just $4.99 per month, Paramount+ is a great option for anyone interested in streaming BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon or Smithsonian Channel content.

The Paramount+ app was previously the CBS All Access app and this means canceling a subscription is not really any different to how a CBS All Access subscription was canceled before. However, for any individuals and homes that have signed up since Paramount Plus launched as a standalone service, here is an overview on how to cancel a subscription on the most popular platforms and devices.

Cancel Paramount+ through the website

Canceling a Paramount Plus subscription mostly depends on whether the subscription was set up with Paramount+ or with another provider. If signed up to the streaming service directly, then the correct way to cancel Paramount Plus is through the website.

Canceling Paramount+ directly:

  1. Visit Paramount+
  2. Sign in
  3. Click/tap on profile icon (top right)
  4. Click/tap on “Account”
  5. Scroll down
  6. Click/tap “Cancel subscription”

Canceling through the Paramount+ website is the correct way for anyone that has signed up to the service directly, and on most devices. This includes homes that have started a Paramount+ subscription on desktop, via a mobile web browser, smart TV, or game console. However, there are other ways to sign up to Paramount Plus including through Amazon, Apple, Google and Roku, and using one of these third-party services changes how a subscription is canceled. Essentially, if a subscriber is paying one of these services each month for their Paramount+ subscription, then they will also need to cancel their subscription through the same third-party service.

Cancel Paramount Plus through Amazon (Fire TV)

If subscribed to Paramount+ on an Amazon Fire TV device and billed for the subscription by Amazon, then canceling the subscription is only possible through the Amazon website and not directly on the device.

  1. Visit Amazon
  2. Navigate to “Memberships and Subscriptions“ (direct link)
  3. Sign in
  4. Find Paramount+ in the list
  5. Click/tap on “Manage Subscription”
  6. Select “Cancel Channel”
  7. Click/tap to Confirm

Cancel Paramount Plus through Apple (iOS)

If subscribed to Paramount+ through Apple, then canceling the subscription is not any different to any other subscription. This can be done on an iPhone, iPad or through Apple TV by accessing the Settings app.

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap name
  3. Tap “Subscriptions”
  4. Select Paramount+
  5. Tap “Cancel Subscription”

Again, canceling through Apple TV devices works in largely the same way. However, subscribers using an Apple TV player to cancel will need to tap on “Select Users & Accounts” to select an account before tapping on the “Subscriptions” setting and following the rest of the instructions listed above.

Cancel Paramount Plus through Google (Android)

If a Paramount+ subscription was started on an Android device and Google takes the payment each month, the subscriber will need to cancel the subscription through the Google Play Store by following the instructions below.

  1. Visit Google Play
  2. Navigate to “Subscriptions” (direct link)
  3. Sign in
  4. Select Paramount+ from the list
  5. Click on “Manage”
  6. Click on “Cancel subscription”

The above instructions work whether using a desktop or mobile browser. However, Android users can also cancel a Paramount Plus subscription directly through the Google Play app on their device.

  1. Open Google Play app
  2. Tap three-dot menu (or profile) icon
  3. Tap “Payments & subscriptions”
  4. Tap “Subscriptions”
  5. Select Paramount+ from the list
  6. Tap on “Cancel subscription” (bottom right)

Regardless of whether canceling through a browser or the app, users may need to confirm that they want to cancel the subscription to complete the process. Users can always return to the same settings location to ensure the subscription has actually been canceled.

Cancel Paramount Plus on Roku

Similar to the other options, if a Paramount+ subscription was created on a Roku device and Roku charges the customer each month, then the subscription will need to be canceled through Roku as well. However, unlike with Fire TV devices, users can easily cancel their subscription directly on the Roku player or Roku TV.

  1. Navigate to the Home screen
  2. Find the Paramount+ channel (app)
  3. Press “*” on the remote
  4. Select “Manage Subscription”
  5. Select “Cancel Subscription”
  6. Confirm the cancellation.

Cancel Paramount+ subscription summary

A Paramount+ subscription can be set up on many devices, but how it is canceled depends on how the subscription was created to begin with. Basically, if signed up directly through Paramount+, Amazon, Apple, Google, or Roku, the subscription will need to be canceled through the same service. For Android, iOS and Roku device users, this can usually be done via the web or directly on the device. However, those signed up on a Fire TV device will need to cancel through the Amazon website.

If signed up to Paramount Plus directly, then the user will need to cancel through the Paramount+ website. This not only applies to those using an Amazon, Apple, Android, or Roku device, but many others as well, including LG and Samsung TVs, and even game consoles.
