For those interested in CNBC programming, there is now the option of signing up for a standalone CNBC+ subscription. At launch, the cost of a subscription starts at $14.99 a month.

The big selling point here is the access to the CNBC livestream. Advertised as a ‘global’ livestream of CNBC’s business day coverage, subscribers can expect the livestream to be primarily populated with coverage of the U.S., Europe, and Asian markets. Subscribers also get access to CNBC’s ‘Market Data’ stream, unlocking the opportunity to view real-time data.

Along with access to the global and data livestreams, a CNBC+ subscription also includes on-demand access to full episodes of CNBC’s business day programming.

While now available, the new streaming service is somewhat lacking in terms of device support. For example, CNBC+ subscribers can currently only access the service through the website or via the Android and iOS mobile apps.

It is also worth noting that CNBC+ currently doesn’t offer a free trial to new users. As a result, all new subscribers can expect to pay the full monthly subscription fee when signing up.

Whether it is worth signing up to the new CNBC+ streaming service remains to be seen right now. The service doesn’t appear to offer much in terms of original content so it seems unlikely to be worth it to any homes that already get access to the live CNBC channel through their live TV package.

It also remains unclear just how much of an appetite there is for standalone news streaming services at the moment. Back in 2022, a standalone CNN+ streaming service launched, only to shut down again one month later.
