CNN Max has now gone live, providing subscribers with a 24/7 live news feed within the Max app. CNN Max has arrived shortly before the new Bleacher Report (B/R) Sports Add-On is due to be added to Max.
For some time now, it has been known that Warner Bros. Discovery planned to increase Max’s appeal and catalog through the addition of live news and live sports. Back in August, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed CNN Max would go live in late September.
That time has now come, and Max subscribers have now gained access to the new CNN Max content through the Max website and in the Max app. The new CNN Max service is available through the News Beta shortcut in the top navigation bar, or through the CNN Max hub.
Through CNN Max, subscribers have access to a 24/7 live news feed which shares many of the same shows and anchors as the linear CNN channel. That said, the 24/7 live needs feed is designed to be a little different, thanks to the inclusion of “bespoke programming built specifically for the Max streaming audience.”

In addition to the live channel, CNN Max has also resulted in an even larger selection of on-demand content. The collection consists of more than 900 episodes of current and legacy programming, including CNN Originals like Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? and The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper.
As mentioned, the addition of live news is part of a much wider strategy that also includes the addition of live sports to Max. Unlike CNN Max, which is free, the new Bleacher Report (B/R) Sports Add-On will cost an additional $9.99 a month. However, existing subscribers will have free access to the sports add-on when it launches next week and through February 2024.
