Those looking for a live TV package that only focuses on sports and news now have another option. Comcast‘s new ‘Sports & News TV’ plan costs $70 a month and unlocks access to more than 50 channels.
While the $70 monthly price is only available to Xfinity Internet customers, there is the option to sign up for the new Sports & News TV plan without an Xfinity Internet subscription at $90 a month.
Popular channels available with this package include ABC, ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS, CNBC, CNN, ESPN, FOX, FOX News, FS1, GOLF Channel, MSNBC, NBC, SEC Network, Telemundo and Univision.
The new package not only provides access to more than 50 broadcast, cable news and sports channels, but also more than 100 free streaming channels. Subscribers also get access to 300 hours of cloud DVR storage as well.
In addition to the selection of free and paid channels, and the cloud DVR, a subscription also includes Peacock at no additional cost. Considering a standalone Peacock subscription costs a minimum of $7.99 a month, its inclusion offers even greater savings for those already paying for the streaming service.
In terms of device support, the new Sports & News TV plan can be accessed through Comcast’s X1 TV box. Subscribers can also access the live TV plan via the Xfinity Stream app on a variety of supported third-party platforms and devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku.
The launch of Comcast’s Sports & News TV package comes less than two weeks after DirecTV launched its ‘MySports’ live TV package. Also priced at $70 a month, DirecTV MySports provides access to more than 40 sports and broadcast channels, including ACC Network, Big Ten Network, ESPN, Fox Sports, MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, NHL Network, TBS, and TNT.
