DirecTV has now launched a new streaming TV solution for small businesses, including shops, bars, restaurants, offices, salons and more. As this is a streaming-based option, small businesses won’t have to worry about some of the traditional hurdles associated with a satellite-based TV package, including the physical use of a satellite and line of sight.

  • DirecTV launched a new streaming-based TV option for small businesses, removing the need for satellite equipment, line‑of‑sight requirements, and landlord-related installation hurdles.
  • Plans start at $69.99/month and include premium live TV channels as well as access to 140+ free channels.
  • The streaming plans are designed to complement and not replace DirecTV’s satellite offerings, with the company also planning to expand the new option to larger businesses in the future.

Starting at $69.99/mo, DirecTV‘s new business plans provide access to a selection of premium live TV channels, with the exact number and selection dependent on the tier chosen.

In addition to premium TV channels, all small businesses signed up to one of these packages also get access to DirecTV’s FAST channel lineup, which now includes more than 140 free, ad-supported TV channels.

With no satellite installation required, the idea behind the new packages is to offer businesses a solution that doesn’t need to take into account common technical issues and hurdles businesses often face when considering a live TV package. For example, restrictions by landlords and/or finding the perfect line of sight for equipment.

Instead, as long as they have access to a high-speed broadband connection they can now opt for a self-installation solution, simplifying the process and making it easy to get up and running as quickly as possible.

“DirecTV For Business has been undergoing the same digital transformation as our consumer platform, and the launch of our new streaming TV for business option gives small business owners more choice and flexibility to help them find the best fit for the best TV experience,” said Doug Eichler, Senior Vice President, DirecTV For Business.

According to DirecTV, the new plans are not meant as a replacement for the company’s existing satellite-based business plans, but to act as an alternate option for those that need one.

“From entertaining current customers to attracting new ones, TV can play an important role in the success of your business, and now you can get the ultimate entertainment experience of DirecTV via streaming or satellite,” added Eichler.

The nationwide rollout of the new streaming packages also isn’t only for small businesses. DirecTV has confirmed plans to expand the offering to larger business locations in the near future.
