Warner Bros. Discovery has increased the price of its Discovery+ ad-supported and ad-free subscription tiers. The price increase takes effect today, increasing the cost of the ‘With Ads’ plan to $5.99 a month and the ‘Ad-Free’ plan to $9.99 a month.
At the new rates, both plans are now $1 more expensive. The last time the streaming service encountered a price increase was October 2023. At that time, the cost of the Ad-Free tier increased to $8.99 a month, a $2 increase.
While the price increase has already taken effect for those signing up to the service, existing subscribers won’t see their price change before February 7, 2025.
As is typically the case with price increases, the exact date an individual subscriber’s monthly price increases depends on their individual billing cycle. However, no existing subscriber should expect to see their price jump to the new rate before February 7.
Likewise, those already locked in to a cheaper price through a promotion will continue to pay the existing promotional rate until the end of the promotional period.
Existing subscribers can check their next billing date by signing in at discoveryplus.com/my-account and navigating to the Subscription section of the settings.
As a reminder, Max plans start at $9.99 a month. Although more expensive, Max not only unlocks access to a selection of Discovery+ content (Discovery, ID, Food Network, HGTV, and TLC content), but also Max-specific programming, including Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, HBO, and Warner Bros. content.
Max can also be bundled with Disney+ and Hulu from $16.99 a month.
