Disney+ subscribers now have the option of watching ABC News Live and Disney Junior live channels right in the Disney+ app. Disney previously confirmed the ability to watch ‘continuous playlists’ would be coming, marking the streaming service’s first major expansion into live channels.
Both live channels can now be accessed directly through the rotating carousel at the top of the Disney+ app and website, as well as elsewhere on the Home screen. It is also possible to navigate to certain ABC News and Disney Junior shows to see if they are due to be shown on the live channels anytime soon. If they are a red ‘Live‘ or a blue ‘Today‘ tag will be shown at the top of the series page.
For those new to the channels, ABC News Live is a 24/7 FAST channel that provides access to breaking news coverage and related programming, including long-form reports and documentaries by ABC.
The Disney Junior channel is packed full of kids-related programming, including Bluey, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey Mouse Roadster Racers, Puppy Dog Pals, Pupstruction, Sofia the First, Spidey And His Amazing Friends, SuperKitties, and The Lion Guard.
As a reminder, these are only the first of the live channels due to become available through Disney+. As part of the initial batch of channels, Disney+ subscribers are due to get access to Seasonal Content (seasonal-themed content from across the Disney+ catalog), Epic Stories (action-packed stories the likes of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars), Throwbacks (nostalgic pop culture content) and Real Life (documentaries, biopics, and true stories).
