First Responders Can Get Peacock Premium For $2 A Month — Here’s How It Works

With Peacock‘s first responders discount, law enforcement, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters and other first responders can unlock access to popular shows, new movies, and live sports for less than usual. Here’s an overview of how the first responder discount works.

The price of a Peacock Premium subscription is $7.99 a month. With the first responder discount dropping the price down to just $1.99 a month, first responders are able to save $6 each month, which equates to $72 in savings over a full year.

Similar to Peacock’s student and teacher discounts, signing up at the first responder price does require verification. What’s more, first responders need to verify their eligibility each year to avoid the subscription converting to a full-priced plan.

Verifying Your First Responder Status

Peacock’s discount is available to all first responders, so it doesn’t matter whether you work for a public or private institution. However, the status does need to be confirmed to get the discount.

Peacock uses SheerID to process verification requests. This is the same company Peacock uses to process student and teacher status requests as well.

As part of the process, first responders need to provide some personal information, including their full name, date of birth, email address, organization name, and clarify which kind of first responder they are.

In most cases, this is all that should be required and the verification should only take a few seconds. Providing no further information is needed, the first responder will then receive a promo code through the provided email address.

Redeeming The First Responder Discount

Once you have received the promotional code, you will need to sign up for a Peacock account. This can be done through the Peacock website. During the sign-up process, the promo code will need to be entered in the Have a promo code? field on the Create an account page.

Once applied, the promo code will reduce the cost of Peacock Premium down from $7.99 a month to $1.99 a month.

For those that already have a Peacock account, the promo code can be redeemed by navigating to Plans & Payments in the Account section of the settings and entering the code.

For reference, active Peacock Premium subscriptions cannot be automatically converted to a discounted subscription. As a result, first responders will first need to cancel their existing subscription, wait for the current billing cycle to end, and then sign up again using the same account and the discount code.

Reverify Each Year To Maintain The Discount

As the discount only applies to the first 12 months of a subscription, first responders will need to continually reverify their status to maintain access to the discount each year. Those that forget to reverify each year can expect the Peacock Premium subscription to automatically renew at the usual rate, currently $7.99 a month.
