Fubo and Diamond Sports Group have reached a new multi-year carriage agreement. Considering the two companies already had a deal in place, the latest agreement confirms little will change in terms of channels and content.

For example, the renewed agreement ensures Diamond’s remaining RSNs will continue to be available to Fubo subscribers. When those Bally Sports RSNs were added in early 2023, Fubo expanded and increased its regional sports fee to cover those costs. With the agreement renewed for a number of years, it seems unlikely there will be any change to those additional RSN fees anytime soon.

From Diamond’s perspective, this deal chalks off yet another agreement. Since the beginning of April, Diamond Sports has agreed similar carriage deals with Charter, Cox and DirecTV. However, Diamond’s Bally Sports RSNs continue to remain unavailable through Comcast, after the two failed to reach an agreement last month.

We are thrilled to renew our agreement with Fubo, a major player in the vMVPD space and a leader in live sports streaming, to continue providing high quality local broadcasts to fans. With the vast majority of our distribution partners in multi-year carriage agreements, Diamond remains focused on completing our reorganization and emerging as a sustainable, profitable business,” said David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond.

Earlier this week, Fubo reconfirmed plans to launch a free tier later this year. While sports isn’t expected to be offered through the free tier, Fubo hopes to slow down churn by offering a FAST-based product to those that cancel in the offseason, or cancel due to the cost of Fubo’s live TV packages.
