Great American Media has now shared new details on the launch of its new Pure Flix Familia streaming service. Similar to Great American Pure Flix, the new Pure Flix Familia platform will offer access to faith, family, and values-based content, but with a focus on Spanish-speaking audiences.
What You Need to Know
- Great American Media is launching Pure Flix Familia, a streaming service focused on faith- and family-oriented Spanish-language content.
- The company partnered with Minivela to develop authentic programming for Latino families.
- While a specific launch date is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to arrive in time for the holidays.
Once available, Pure Flix Familia subscribers will gain access to a variety of original, licensed, and Spanish-dubbed content, including movies, series, family entertainment, and faith-centered storytelling.
“Great American Pure Flix is the leading faith-and-family streaming service, and Pure Flix Familia will build on that foundation with programming and experiences created specifically for Latino families,” said Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media.
The company also says the programming will reflect various aspects of Latino life, including the humor, romance, faith, traditions, family relationships, and multigenerational experiences.
“Faith and family are at the heart of Great American Media, and those values have deep roots within the Latino community. We are committed to working with talented Latino creators to tell authentic, compelling stories and to building a trusted entertainment destination for families in the United States and around the world,” added Abbott.
Great American Media has partnered with Minivela on the programming and content for the service. Co-founded by Manny Ruiz and Carlos Ponce, Minivela already has a long history of developing content for U.S. Hispanic and Latin American audiences.
“We approached Pure Flix because we saw an opportunity for more wholesome entertainment created with Latino families in mind, and they immediately understood the need,” Ponce said. “Families shouldn’t have to choose between stories that authentically reflect their culture and entertainment they feel good about bringing into their homes. Pure Flix Familia brings those two things together.”
While Great American Media has yet to confirm exactly when the new streaming service will launch, the expectation is it will arrive in time for the busy holiday period.
According to the company, complete launch details, including subscription options and supported devices, are due to be announced in the coming weeks.
