If you’re an existing Hallmark+ subscriber, or considering signing up to the streaming service, it is worth being aware that a price increase began rolling out last month, and just ahead of the start of this year’s Countdown to Christmas movie event.
What You Need to Know
- A Hallmark+ subscription now cost $8.99 a month, resulting in a $1 increase.

- This price increase arrived weeks ahead of the start of Hallmark’s annual Countdown to Christmas event.
Following the latest price increase, a Hallmark+ subscription now costs $8.99 a month, $1 more than the service was priced at following the 2024 rebrand from Hallmark Movies Now.
As far as Streaming Better understands, the new price took effect sometime last month. Specifically, around September 16th.
With the price increase having already taken effect, new subscribers will now pay the new $8.99/mo rate when signing up and following their initial 7-day free trial.
As is usually the case with streaming service price increases, this latest one is also expected to impact existing Hallmark+ subscribers as well.
With the increase appearing to have taken effect around September 16th, existing subscribers should begin to see the new higher monthly rate applied to their account from today (Oct. 16).
Interestingly, while the monthly price has increased, the annual plan remains unchanged. At the same $79.99/yr, the yearly subscription breaks down to around $6.67/mo on average, making the annual plan more than $2/mo cheaper.
The timing of the price increase is also of note, as Hallmark’s popular Countdown to Christmas movie events begins today at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with the premiere of the new ‘Tis the Season for Setups movie on the Hallmark Channel.
As is the case with all of Hallmark’s new Countdown to Christmas movies for 2026, ‘Tis the Season for Setups will be available to stream on Hallmark+ from tomorrow.
