Here Are The New Google TV Features Rolling Out To Devices From Today

Google is rolling out some new features to Google TV, including a new Home panel for smart home control, an improved Ambient screensaver, a new Sports page, and enhanced overviews of top movies and shows. All of these features are rolling out to all current Google TV device beginning today.

The new Home panel offers users the ability to control compatible smart home devices directly from their TV. Users with a smart doorbell can also see who is at the door without leaving the couch.

If you’re not a fan of your current screensaver, the new and improved Ambient screensaver feature makes it possible to create a one-of-a-kind image thanks to the use of AI.

The new Sports page makes it easier to find a range of sports-related programming and content, with quick access to live and upcoming games, sports commentary, YouTube highlights, and personalized recommendations.

Google TV Streamer Gemini AI

Enhanced overviews offer more information on the movie or show being watched. For example, these overviews provide users with have access to full summaries, audience reviews and season-by-season breakdowns.

The availability of these new features is designed to coincide with tomorrow’s launch of the Google TV Streamer. The latest streaming player from Google marks a move away from the Chromecast line, and is designed to be a more powerful device in general.

Beginning tomorrow, the Google TV Streamer will be available to buy from the Google Store and elsewhere for $99.99. Along with the standard Porcelain color, a Hazel model will also be exclusively available to buy from the Google Store.
