The Bally Sports Plus standalone subscription service is now available in all regions where Bally Sports’ RSNs are available. Generally speaking, a subscription costs $19.99 per month or $189.99 when paid annually. However, this is only really the starting cost with the actual price dependent on the location, and which local sports and teams a household wants access to.

After multiple live TV streaming services lost access to a variety of local and regional sports networks, Bally Sports Plus launched in July 2022 to help fill in the gap. The initial launch was only a soft launch with access limited to just a few regions. In September 2022 that changed, with the subscription service going live and opening up access to local sports teams in many more regions across the US.

For those considering signing up to the service for the first time, the standard monthly plan is priced at $19.99 and a subscription can be created directly though the Bally Sports Plus website. If wanting to save on the cost, there is also the option to sign up to an annual plan. Priced at $189.99, the annual plan brings the average monthly cost down to around $15.83, resulting in a saving of around $4 per month.

However, these prices are the minimum that an individual or household will pay each month or year. While Bally Sports does offer access to MLB, NBA, and NHL games, access is highly dependent on the area. In some areas, subscribers may have to subscribe to more than one plan to access additional sports or teams.

Using Los Angeles as an example, residents can sign up to Bally Sports SoCal for $19.99 per month (or $189.99 per year) and watch Los Angeles Clippers and Anaheim Ducks games. Alternatively, residents in LA can sign up to Bally Sports West for $19.99 per month (or $189.99 per year) and gain access to Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings games.

For those that want access to Los Angeles Clippers, Anaheim Ducks, and Los Angeles Kings games, they will either need to sign up to both separate subscriptions or bundle them together. If opting to bundle the two subscriptions then the combined price comes to $25.99 per month, and there’s no option to pay annually.

Not all regions are the same

Due to the way Bally Sports operates and the RSNs it owns, the exact pricing options and plans will vary depending on the location and the teams available. For example, while those in Los Angeles can choose between two different subscriptions (or bundle them together), those in Detroit can only subscribe to one. Priced at the standard $19.99 per month (or $189.99 per year), the Bally Sports Detroit plan unlocks access to Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, and Detroit Red Wings games.

In contrast, and similar to the situation in LA, those in Tampa have the option of picking between two subscriptions or bundling them both together. For the standard $19.99 per month ($189.99 per year), sports fans can either sign up to Bally Sports Sun and gain access to Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Lightning games or to Bally Sports Florida for access to Miami Marlins and Orlando Magic games.

Alternatively, both Bally Sports Sun and Bally Sports Florida can be bundled together for $29.99 per month.

As highlighted by the price of the Florida ($29.99 per month) and Los Angeles ($25.99 per month) bundles, the cost of bundling subscriptions together is not consistent across regions. With this in mind, consumers will need to verify exactly which subscriptions, and at what prices, are available in their specific location.

Verifying which teams and plans are available in a specific location can be quickly checked by heading over to the Bally Sports Plus website, entering the ZIP code for the location, and then clicking on See Packages. Once done, Bally Sports will show which plans (with which teams) are available, the prices, and if there is an option to bundle subscriptions in areas where multiple plans are available.

Bally Sports Plus cost: summary

A standard Bally Sports Plus subscription costs $19.99 per month and there is the option to lower the cost to $15.86 per month (on average) by signing up and paying for an annual plan. However, these prices are for specific subscriptions and access to specific teams. In some locations, the one plan might be the only option available. Elsewhere, consumers may find they are offered more than one plan, with each one priced at $19.99 per month or $189.99 per year.

In situations where more than one plan is available, subscribers can either choose between the different plans for access to specific teams or bundle the two plans together. If bundling, the price can still vary between locations, but typically ranges in price between $25 and $30 per month.
