Earlier this year, the Florida Panthers confirmed plans to launch a direct-to-consumer service. At the time, there were no firm details available on when the service would become available, other than later in the year. That’s now changed as the new Panthers+ DTC streaming service is now live.
Launched in partnership with ViewLift and Scripps Sports, the new Panthers+ service is set to become the official streaming home of the club, offering fans of the NHL team another way to to stream all locally-available games.
The DTC service is now accessible directly through the new Panthers+ website. A dedicated app is also now available on a variety of platforms and devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku, as well as on Android and iOS mobile devices.
According to the Panthers, additional device support is due to go live soon. Specifically, the app is set to become available on LG smart TVs and Samsung smart TVs in the coming weeks.
For reference, a subscription is required to access Panthers content, including live games, through Panthers+. A season pass is currently priced at $69.99 a year.
For any Cats fans unsure of whether this is the right solution for them, Panthers+ will be offering free access to the preseason match-ups on Sept. 27 at Carolina, Sept. 28 vs Carolina, Sept. 30 vs Tampa Bay and Oct. 2 at Tampa Bay.
As is typically the case with DTC services, subscribers will need to be located within the team’s television territory to stream games through Panthers+. In addition, games shown nationally through ESPN and Turner Sports won’t be available to watch with a standalone Panthers+ subscription.
