Peacock is set to offer a heightened NBA streaming experience later this year, thanks to the launch of a set of new intuitive and interactive features.

Over the past few years, Peacock has been slowly building out its sports content and coverage. And, at the same time, the service has also looked to introduce new features to complement its sports content, from new features for the Olympics to Multiview for Premier League.

Announced today during NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall, the company confirmed a set of new features that are due to roll out to Peacock when the NBA makes its debut on the platform with the 2025-2026 season.

As NBCUniversal explains, the new streaming experience is designed to provide NBA fans with a similar heightened streaming experience as other sports fans.

Peacock will be the most fun and engaging place to stream NBA games for longtime basketball fans and new ones, too. We’re bringing the same level of innovation, inspiration and commitment that we’ve brought to so many other huge sports moments and leagues to deliver an intuitive, interactive and reliable streaming experience that the full range of NBA fans will enjoy,” said Rick Cordella, President of NBC Sports.

New NBA Features Coming To Peacock

One of the improvements coming later this year is a more streamlined approach to accessing games through the Peacock app. Essentially, Peacock users will see live games highlighted in the app as soon as they open it, allowing them to jump straight into the action.

For those tuning in late, real-time insights and stats on the home page will provide fans with a quick overview of what’s happened to help them catch up before jumping into the live game. Likewise, Peacock’s Catch Up with Key Plays feature will also make it possible for fans to see what’s happened while catching up on the action.

Last month, Peacock announced some new features specifically designed for mobile users, including Can’t Miss Highlights. Support for these must-see clips will also extend to Peacock’s NBA mobile app experience, providing users with the latest game highlights and notable pre-and-post moments from across the league.

As part of last month’s announcement, Peacock also confirmed that new Prediction Games would be coming to the mobile app. Today, NBCUniversal confirmed that a similar NBA experience will be available on both TV and mobile through the new Peacock ScoreCard.

Described as “bingo meets fantasy sports“, Peacock ScoreCard provides fans with the ability to choose a game card based on a team or theme, and then earn points depending on what happens during the game.

Once a scorecard has been selected, the user will then receive personalized Peacock ScoreCard alerts to let them know how they are doing throughout a match-up and how they stack up against other players.

Another new and feature coming soon is Peacock Performance View. Once this mode is enabled, the fan will have access to real-time stats that break down the game, from which player is on a shooting streak to where they are most likely to score from next.

For those want to get even closer to the action, Peacock will also be offering a ‘Courtside Live’ mode for its exclusive NBA Monday night games, available during the second half of the season.

During these games, Courtside Live mode will make it possible to take advantage of a coveted courtside seat, including access to insider angles that immerse fans even more deeply into the game.
