Shudder Is The Latest Streaming Service To Increase In Price In 2026

Shudder has now increased in price. The new monthly and annual rates are already in effect for new subscribers, and existing subscribers can expect their subscription to increase over the next few weeks.

Shudder had added another $1 to the monthly subscription price. The price increase now means a monthly Premium (ad-free) subscription costs $9.99 a month following a seven-day free trial.

With $1 added to the monthly price, the cost of the annual plan has also increased, accordingly. Up $10 from the previous $89.99/mo rate, an Annual Premium subscription now costs $99.99 a year.

These new rates are already in effect for new subscribers when signing up to Shudder directly.

Existing subscribers will also be impacted by this latest price increase, with their subscription due to increase at some point over the next few weeks.

The exact date that an individual subscriber will see their cost increase depends on their individual billing cycle. This date can be checked in the Memberships & Billing section after signing in and accessing the account dashboard.

This latest price hike follows an increase in April of last year, which increased the cost of a subscription by $2, up from $6.99 to $8.99 a month.

With another $1 added to the cost this year, the price has increased $3 a month since March 2025.

Any existing subscribers that find the cost has now become too high for them, the Monthly With Ads tier costs $7.99 a month. In addition to ads, the Monthly With Ads plan also removes the ability to download videos to watch offline.

Alternatively, AMC+ plans start at $7.99 a month. Although not any cheaper than a Shudder subscription, signing up to AMC+ not only gets you access to AMC content, but also the Shudder and Sundance Now libraries as well, making it a better value solution overall.
