Sling ended the third calendar quarter of 2025 with almost two million subscribers. The update confirms the last full quarter saw Sling buck a trend that had routinely resulted in subscriber losses.

  • Sling TV reversed its subscriber decline in Q3 by adding 159,000 subscribers, reaching 1.995 million.
  • With 148,000 fewer subscribers compared to Q3 2024, Sling TV still saw a year-over-year loss.
  • EchoStar’s overall pay-TV base continued to decline, dropping to 7.166 million in Q3 2025, down nearly one million from the previous year.

Sling TV ended the second quarter with 1.785 million subscribers, marking another new low for the live TV service. With 1.995 million subscribers reported for the most recent quarter, Sling managed to add a good chunk of subscribers between July and September.

We regularly track subscriber numbers and by our calculations Sling added around 210,000 subscribers during the quarter. However, the official number of additions reported for the third quarter is 159,000.

Either way, it proved to be a positive quarter for Sling, and one that reversed a trend that had continued over the past years.

Although positive, the number of subscribers remains down on a year-over-year basis. With 2.143 million subscribers reported for the third quarter of 2024, Sling had 148,000 fewer subscribes than it did a year ago.

Unlike Sling TV, Dish TV continued to lose customers. After closing out the previous quarter with 5.323 million subscribers, Dish TV ended the most recent quarter with 5.171 million, resulting in a loss of around 152,000 subscribers.

All in all, EchoStar reported a total of 7.166 million pay-TV subscribers, as of September 30, 2025.

This resulted in a slight overall increase on the 7.108 million pay-TV subscribers reported for the second quarter of 2025, but a decline of nearly one million on the 8.031 million reported for the third quarter of 2024.
