Sling TV is once again offering new users the option to sign up and save 50% on the cost of the first month of live TV. This proved to be a popular promotion in the build up to the holidays, so if you missed out last time, now’s a good time to take advantage of the half-off deal.

In general, Sling TV is fairly competitive on price when compared to other live TV streaming services. Both of its Sling Orange and Sling Blue base plans cost $40 per month, and there’s also the ability to bundle the two through the $55 per month Sling Orange & Blue package. In comparison, YouTube TV costs $64.99 per month, DirecTV Stream and Hulu Live TV Plans start at $69.99, and fuboTV costs a minimum of $74.99 per month.

Starting today, Sling TV is now offering 50% off all of its base plans, making it possible to sign up to Orange or Blue for just $20. Alternatively, new users can sign up to the combined Sling Orange & Blue plan for just $27.50. It is worth keeping in mind that this discount does only apply to the very first month. Unless the subscriber cancels the subscription before the end of the discounted month, they will automatically be charged the usual, higher rate for the second month.

If undecided on which plan is best for an individual home, Sling Blue is the better option for those wanting access to NBC and Fox. However, Fox and NBC locals are only available in select areas so it is worth confirming channel availability before signing up to this plan if access to locals is important.

In contrast, Sling Orange is the right option for any homes looking to watch ESPN and Disney channels, making it a good live TV package for sports and families.

As suggested by the name, the combined Sling Orange & Blue plan removes any channel barriers, making it the best option for those that want access to all of the channels included with both base plans. Regardless of which Sling TV package is chosen, 50 hours of recording space are included at no additional cost.
