All Sling TV subscribers have access to Discovery+ for free this weekend. Sling routinely offers its subscribers a free preview of a premium network, and this week it’s the turn of the Discovery streaming service.
Discovery Plus offers access to a selection of content from different brands including A&E, Food Network, HGTV, Discovery, Lifetime, and more. As a result, it can be a good subscription for any homes specifically interested in food, home, relationship, true crime, and paranormal content.
For any Sling TV subscribers that are unsure of whether Discovery Plus is the right subscription for them, they now have the option of testing the service out. This Discovery Plus free preview went live today (July 14) and remains active through Monday (July 17). During this period, all Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Orange & Blue subscribers can stream as much Discovery Plus content as they want for free.
With the free preview now available, Sling TV subscribers have access to a variety of popular shows including Discovery’s Ghost Adventures and Naked and Afraid, Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, HGTV’s Home Town Takeover and House Hunters, History’s Ancient Aliens, and TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé and My 600-Lb. Life, among others.
For those that decide they would like to keep access to Discovery Plus after the free preview, it can be bundled with any Sling TV package for an additional $4.99 each month. This is for the ad-supported subscription tier, with the Discovery Plus ad-free tier available to add to any Sling TV package for $2 more ($6.99/month).
It is worth noting that any Sling TV subscribers that are also already subscribed to Max may not need to actually pay for a separate Discovery Plus subscription. While there are differences between Max and Discovery Plus, Max does include a wide variety of Discovery Plus shows and content at no additional cost.
If new to Sling TV in general, the service’s live TV packages start at $40 per month. However, Sling is currently running a promotion that reduces the cost of the first month down to as low as $15.
For those that sign up over this weekend, they’ll also get access to the same Discovery Plus free preview through Monday.
