With Vizio having closed out the second quarter of the year with 18.8 million active accounts, Vizio managed to add roughly 300,000 between July and September 2024. This was slightly higher than the 200,000 Active Accounts added during the second quarter of this year.

Considering the company closed out the third quarter of 2023 with 17.9 million active accounts, Vizio added around 1.2 million over the past 12 months, matching the 1.2 million year-over-year increase reported for the second quarter of 2024.

During the most recent quarter, Vizio also reported a total of 5.8 billion streaming hours. This is slightly up on the 5.6 billion hours reported for the previous quarter and also up on the 5.2 billion streaming hours reported for Q3 2023.

This also resulted in SmartCast Hours per average SmartCast Active Account increasing to 101 per month. For reference, Vizio reported 100 per month SmartCast Hours per average SmartCast Active Account for the second quarter of 2024 and 97 per month for the third quarter of last year.

Other notably changes to the user experience during the third quarter of 2024 included the launch of 26 new apps, including Lights Out Sports, Knight Time, Victory+, and Spirits Network.

Vizio also added a number of new WatchFree+ channels during the quarter, including Military Heroes, Duck Dynasty, BBC Earth, and BritBox Mysteries.
