You can watch MLB TV for free this fourth of July weekend, thanks to a free preview offered by the streaming service. In fact, the free preview begins today, so you can watch MLB TV for free right now.
Today through Sunday, baseball fans can watch (mostly) every game for free on MLB TV. Notable exclusions here include general blackouts, Apple TV+ games on Friday, the Roku MLB Sunday Leadoff Game, and the Sunday Night Baseball game on ESPN. Otherwise, you can watch every other game without paying for a subscription.
Not only do you not need a subscription, but you won’t need to provide a credit card either. Instead, all that’s required is an MLB.com account to watch MLB TV over the weekend, and that account is free to create.
Some of the notable matchups to look out for over the weekend include Mets at Yankees, Cardinals at Cubs, Astros at Dodgers, and Giants at Athletics.
In addition to streaming stream every out-of-market MLB game, MLB TV also provides access to MLB Network, live Minor League games, and MLB Big Inning.
If you decide that you would like to retain access to MLB TV following this July 4th free preview, the monthly plan currently costs $29.99 a month.
There’s also the option to sign up to a yearly plan. The annual plan currently costs $94.99 for the remainder of this season, and renews in late February each year.
For those signed up to a live TV package, it may also be possible to watch the free MLB TV preview directly through the provider’s app. For example, Sling TV has confirmed its subscribers can take advantage of the free preview in its app now through Sunday.
