YouTube is currently offering YouTube TV subscribers the option to try Starz for free for 30 days. The same offer is also available to YouTube Primetime Channels users as well.
Considering a standalone Starz subscription costs $10.99 a month this is a good opportunity to test out the streaming service for a full month without paying. YouTube TV subscribers can add Starz directly through the Membership section of the settings, while YouTube users can add Starz through the Browse section (under Movies & TV).
The extended free trial is only a limited-time offer and not a permanent move by YouTube, so those looking to take advantage of the promotion will need to sign up before the end of April. The subscription will also auto-renew at the usual rate, currently $10.99/mo, following the end of the extended free trial.
The free 30 days follows confirmation late last year that Starz and YouTube had renewed and extended their existing distribution agreement. At that time, the announcement confirmed the new agreement opened up the possibility for new bundling options and special offers.
It would seem the 30 day free trial is an example of those referenced special offers.
From Starz’s perspective, this is only the latest attempt to expand its user base. Over the past year, the streaming service has forged multiple arrangements with other services and companies, typically resulting in the option to bundle Starz with other streaming services at a discounted price.
The most recent of which arrived last month when Vizio began offering an AMC+ and Starz bundle at a discounted price.
