For the third year in a row, YouTube TV subscribers rank the highest in terms of overall customer satisfaction. According to the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study, Verizon Fios TV ranked the highest in the cable/satellite segment.

  • YouTube TV ranked highest in J.D. Power’s study for the third consecutive year, scoring 649 out of 1,000, and well above the live TV streaming average of 630.
  • Verizon Fios TV led the cable/satellite segment with a score of 577, but still fell short of all live streaming services.
  • Despite higher satisfaction, live TV streaming services face greater customer turnover due to easier cancellation and lack of bundled offerings.

While both Verizon Fios TV and YouTube TV ranked highest in their respective segments, YouTube TV ranked the highest overall with a score of 649 (on a 1,000-point scale). This compared to Verizon Fios TV’s score of 577.

YouTube TV was also the only live TV streaming service to rank higher than the 630 segment average score. YouTube TV was followed by Sling TV (625), Hulu Live TV (623), Fubo (606) and DirecTV Stream (578).

In spite of ranking the highest overall, YouTube TV’s score of 649 in 2025 was lower than the 651 YouTube TV scored in J.D. Power’s 2024 satisfaction study, and significantly lower than the 795 YouTube TV scored in J.D. Power’s 2023 satisfaction study.

At the other side of the spectrum, DirecTV (streaming) ranked the lowest with a score of 578. However, this was still marginally higher than Verizon Fios TV’s score of 577, as well as all of the other cable/satellite providers.

Along with Verizon Fios TV, Spectrum (536) and Xfinity (533) were the only providers to score higher than the 531 segment average. Cox scored 527, Dish scored 523, DirecTV scored 515, and Optimum scored $465.

Although all of the live TV streaming services ranked higher than all of the cable/satellite providers, J.D. Power notes that live TV services typically encounter a greater level of customer turnover.

Cable TV providers have longer-standing customer relationships and more tenure than live TV streaming services,” said Carl Lepper, senior director of technology, media and telecom intelligence at J.D. Power. “Many customers choose cable because of bundled TV and internet offerings, an option that streaming providers typically don’t offer. In areas with limited internet provider availability, bundling becomes even more common. While live streaming services may offer greater flexibility and higher satisfaction, they also face higher turnover.”

This higher turnover isn’t a huge surprise when considering it is typically much easier to cancel a live TV streaming subscription than a package offered by a cable satellite provider.
