YouTube TV subscribers are apparently the most satisfied, and for the second year in a row. This is according to the findings from J.D. Power‘s latest customer satisfaction survey.

While YouTube TV managed to remain on top, YouTube’s live TV streaming service seems to have scored less than last year. It wasn’t just YouTube TV either, with all of the live TV services having seemingly declined in their respective customer satisfaction scores.

Two years ago, Fubo (then FuboTV) subscribers were deemed the most satisfied overall. In 2023, however, YouTube TV jumped from third to first place with a score of 795 (on a 1,000-point scale). In the space of the same year, Fubo dropped from first down to fifth in terms of customer satisfaction.

According to the results of J.D. Power’s 2024 U.S. Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study, YouTube TV ranked the highest of the live TV streaming services with a score of 651, down considerable on the 795 from the year before.

Maintaining second place for a second year was Hulu Live TV. Hulu’s live TV service scored 635 this year, down from 785 the year before. Also similar to last year, Sling TV came in third place with a score of 613 (down from 772 in 2023).

Elsewhere Fubo and DirecTV Stream switched places. In the 2024 study, Fubo finished fourth in customer satisfaction with a score of 578 (down from 742) and DirecTV Stream finished in fifth with a score of 558 (down from 748).

Overall, the live TV streaming service scored a segment average of 625. As this compared to 524 among cable and satellite customers, live TV streamers were considered to be more satisfied in general.

Charter‘s Spectrum ranked the highest in the cable/satellite TV–national segment, scoring 530, followed by Comcast‘s Xfinity with 529, Dish with 516, and DirecTV with 509.

In spite of live TV subscribers having been subjected to price increases over the past year, the “value for the price paid” represented the biggest gap in satisfaction overall between the live TV streaming and cable/satellite segments.

For reference, the results of J.D. Power’s 2024 U.S. Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study is based on responses from more than 32,000 customers between October 2023 and August 2024.
