As part of its plan to expand its free, ad-supported streaming service, Fandango is making some changes, including offering the ability for users to watch select movies, series, and more without creating an account or logging in.

Previously known as Fandango at Home, the company opted to rebrand the streaming side of its business earlier this month. Rebranded as Fandango, the aim is to unify the theater and streaming businesses under the one name.
Following that rebrand, Fandango is also now making some changes to the actual streaming service, including the ability to watch free content without having to first create an account or sign in to an existing account.
Now when users visit Fandango’s streaming section they will see a Watch Now option for free titles when not signed in, making it quicker and easier to jump straight into the title and start watching.
“As consumers navigate an increasingly fragmented streaming landscape, we see a tremendous opportunity to make entertainment simpler, more accessible and truly free,” said Will McIntosh, President, Digital Platforms & Ventures, Versant.
In a new promotional video promoting the change, Fandango highlights how its new setup does away with worrying about remembering passwords.
In addition to simplifying the streaming experience, Fandango has also expanded the selection of titles that are available to stream for free.
According to Fandango, the service now offers more than 3,500 hours of free programming from the Versant content library and live sports including the Bundesliga.
Earlier this week, USA Sports announced it had secured the English-language rights to Germany’s top domestic soccer league in the U.S. While some of those Bundesliga matches will be available to watch on USA Network, the vast majority will be available to stream for free on Fandango.

Fandango said its AVOD streaming business has grown significantly over the past year, with monthly active users increasing more than 300% and viewing hours up more than 200%.
