What You Need to Know

  • Roku reached 39.9 billion streaming hours in Q3 2026, an increase on the previous quarter and year.
  • Total net revenue grew to $1.5 billion, primarily driven by the company’s Platform division.
  • Despite an increase in Devices revenue, increased memory costs led Roku to raise player prices by up to $50.

Considering Roku logged 37.9 billion streaming hours in Q2 2026, the platform saw an increase of around 2 billion hours between July and September.

However, as Q2 2026’s streaming hours marked a decline on the 38.7 billion hours reported for the first quarter, Roku has only seen an increase of around 1.2 billion hours since the first quarter.

On a year-over-year basis, Roku ended the third quarter of 2025 with 36.5 billion streaming hours, resulting in an annual increase of 3.4 billion, up 9% YoY.

Platform Gains Continue to Drive Revenue Growth

Total net revenue for the third quarter of 2026 came in at $1.5 billion. This represented an increase on the $1.35 billion reported for the second quarter of this year, as well as a year-over-year increase of 24%.

As per usual, Platform revenue occupied the majority of total net revenue, coming in at $1.3 billion. In addition to increasing on the $1.22 billion reported for the previous quarter, it also marked a year-over-year increase of 23%.

Platform revenue for the quarter included $727 million in advertising revenue (23% YoY increase) and $581 million in subscriptions revenue (23% YoY increase).

Roku also saw a 33% YoY increase in Devices revenue. With 193.7 million revenue reported for the most recent quarter, the company’s Devices business increased on the 133.7 million reported for the second quarter of the year, and on the 146 million reported for the third quarter of last year.

As previously reported, Roku was one of the device-makers that increased the price of its hardware devices during the third quarter due to increased memory costs. In Roku’s case, this resulted in as much as $50 added to the price of its streaming players.

Overall, Roku’s device business reported an operating loss of $48.6 million during the third quarter of 2026.
