Curiosity Stream annual plans are 40% cheaper than usual right now, offering new subscribers a way to lock in a cheaper price for twelve months. The Curiosity Stream annual plan sale went live today (March 18) and is a very limited-time sale, as the lower prices are only due to remain available through Wednesday (March 20).
The new sale is designed to highlight the 9th anniversary of Curiosity Stream. While the subscription service was officially announced in January 2015, Curiosity Stream became available to consumers on March 18, 2015. At the time, the service offered ad-free access to more than 800 on-demand titles.
Fast forward to March 18, 2024 and Curiosity Stream now offers the ability to stream thousands of films, series, and shows with a subscription. While the standard plan costs $4.99 a month, subscribers usually pay as low as $3.34 a month on average when signing up to an annual plan.
The additional 40% off right now results in even greater savings. For example, the standard annual plan has dropped in price from $39.99 to $23.99, which is equivalent to paying $2 a month for the first 12 months. If looking for a richer experience, Curiosity Stream also offers a ‘Smart Bundle’ which unlocks access to additional content from Tastemade, Kidstream, Curiosity University, SOMM TV, Da Vinci and Topic.
While the Smart Bundle typically costs $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year, the 40% off flash sale lowers the annual plan cost down to $41.99, which works out to be $3.50 a month on average.
As is typically the case with streaming service deals, the current annual plan sale only applies to the first year. When the Curiosity Stream subscription renews in the second year, subscribers will automatically be charged the usual, higher rate, unless canceled.
