DirecTV had added five Lionsgate Channels to the DirecTV Stream channel lineup. The new channels have been made available as part of a new and wide-ranging licensing agreement with Lionsgate.
The new channels are:
- Anger Management
- Are We There Yet?
- Ebony TV
- HerSphere
- MovieSphere
In addition to DirecTV Stream, the same channels have also become available to DirecTV via Internet customers as well. According to the announcement, the channels are only available to those that receive content via streaming, so DirecTV via Satellite customers will only be able to access the new Lionsgate channels through the DirecTV app.
As these new additions are part of a wider agreement, DirecTV has made clear that the plan is to add more FAST channels from Lionsgate in the future.
“We want to enable our customers to select from a wider variety of genres and to explore their most avid interests in greater depth,” said Rebecca Nelson, senior vice president of content and programming at DirecTV. “Lionsgate is a leading content supplier who offers many strong options to expand our future lineup and enhance customer value.”
The new channels follow another five FAST channels that were added to DirecTV Stream’s lineup earlier this month. The previous batch of FAST channels included El Rey Rebel (Ch. 4229), Poker Go (Ch. 4140), Racing America (Ch. 4192), Somos Novelas (Ch. 4720) and Women’s Sports Network (Ch. 4125).
