While DirecTV tends to routinely offer free previews of various add-ons, and has actually made both MGM Plus and Movies Extra Pack free in the past, it is less common for two to be available at the same time. All of which makes this double free preview worth taking advantage of.

As mentioned, the free preview period begins this Saturday (June 24) and will remain available through next Friday (June 30). During this time, subscribers won’t have to do anything to enable either free preview, other than tune in to the right channel and start watching.

MGM Plus is the new name for the older Epix streaming service. The rebrand to MGM Plus took place earlier this year with the new version offering access to a mostly unchanged library, which includes From and Top Gun: Maverick.

The current free MGM Plus preview includes access to MGM+ (Ch. 558), MGM+ Hits (Ch. 559) and MGM+ Marquee (Ch. 560).

As for Movies Extra Pack, this is one of DirecTV’s own bundles that brings together a variety of additional channels (Ch 564 – 573), including Sony Movies, Hallmark Drama, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and Smithsonian Channel, among others.

If not currently signed up to DirecTV, the company offers two main over-the-internet options, DirecTV via Internet and DirecTV Stream. Both services come with four main plans that vary in terms of the price and the selection of channels.

If opting to sign up to DirecTV via Internet or DirecTV Stream before June 24, you’ll also get access to both MGM Plus and Movies Extra Pack free previews through June 30.
