DirecTV plans to add Peacock Premium to its Movies Extra Pack add-on next month, and this will result in the add-on being rebranded as ‘Movies Extra Pack + Peacock.’

DirecTV has confirmed that the price of its Signature Packages will increase next month. While the company has yet to confirm by how much, it is becoming clear that DirecTV’s latest price increases will also affect some add-ons as well.

The Movies Extra Pack add-on currently costs $4.99 a month. However, beginning October 5, 2025, the price will increase by $5 to $9.99 a month. Although a significant price increase, the add-on will soon include Peacock Premium.

Once the change takes effect, the Movies Extra Pack will be rebranded as Movies Extra Pack + Peacock.

Strangely, DirecTV has also confirmed that the cost of its Peacock Premium add-on will increase to $10.99 a month at the same time.

While this is not strange in the sense that the increase is designed to match the price increase Peacock introduced in July, it is strange that it will seemingly make a standalone Peacock subscription through DirecTV $1 more expensive than the Movies Extra Pack add-on, which will also include Peacock Premium.

With this in mind, it would seem that any existing DirecTV customers currently getting Peacock Premium as part of their live TV package may want to consider switching over to the new Movies Extra Pack + Peacock bundle when it goes live on October 5, 2025.

In addition to Peacock, Movies Extra Pack subscribers will also have access to documentaries, movies and short films from Sony Movies, Hallmark Family, Hallmark Mystery, and Smithsonian Channel.

Although Peacock will soon be included in Movies Extra Pack, subscribers to the add-on will still need to manually activate their Peacock account to gain access to all the additional content available through the streaming service.
