Disney+ Premium subscribers, who are also fans of The Simpsons, will be happy to hear that a channel dedicated to the popular series is now available at no additional cost. The new The Simpsons Stream is the latest 24/7 live channel to be offered by the streaming service.
Considering The Simpsons has been running for years, the new always-on channel won’t have any problems finding content to fill the time slots. In fact, with 767 episodes across seasons 1-35 playing in chronological order at launch, that’s almost 300 continuous hours of The Simpsons for Disney+ to choose from, and Disney says the lineup will be refreshed on a monthly basis.
The new channel is available beginning today so Disney+ Premium (ad-free) subscribers can access it immediately in the Disney+ app. The channel also doesn’t affect any of the on-demand The Simpsons, content, which remains available to all subscribers in the app.
“From day one, the fans have asked for a Stream of The Simpsons, and we’re happy to oblige,” said Gabe Lewis, SVP of Programming & Content Curation, Disney+.
As mentioned, this is only the latest Stream to be added to the streaming service in recent months. Other Streams currently available to Premium subscribers include Hits & Heroes, Throwbacks, and Real Life. In addition, all Disney+ subscribers (ad-supported and ad-free) continue to have access to ABC News and Disney+ Playtime Streams.
“Streams on Disney+ have been a fantastic go-to experience for subscribers looking to sit back and relax with their favorite shows and movies, and we look forward to evolving the user experience and expanding the offering with more Streams, to more subscribers, later this year,” Lewis added.
