Disney+ ended the third calendar quarter (Disney Q4 FY25) with more than 131 million global subscribers. The latest update confirms a healthy quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year subscriber increase.
Key Takeaways
- Disney+ added 3.8 million subscribers in Q3, reaching 131.6 million globally, with growth split between domestic and international markets.
- Disney+ ended the most recent quarter with 59.3 million domestic subscribers and 72.4 million international subscribers.
- When accounting for the previous removal of Hotstar subscribers, Disney+ saw an 8.9 million year-over-year subscriber increase.
After closing out the second calendar quarter with 127.8 million subscribers globally, Disney+ managed to add around 3.8 million between July and September of this year.
The 3.8 million subscriber increase was also fairly well distributed between Disney‘s domestic and international markets.
In terms of the domestic market (the U.S. and Canada), Disney+ ended the most recent quarter with 59.3 million subscribers. This equated to an increase of 1.5 million on the 57.8 million reported for the previous quarter.
Internationally, Disney ended the third calendar quarter of 2025 with 72.4 million subscribers, an increase of around 2.5 million on the 69.9 million reported for the previous quarter.
On a year-over-year basis, Disney+ technically registered a decrease of more than 20 million global subscribers. However, this is only a technicality, as the company made a change earlier this year that resulted in Disney+ Hotstar subscribers no longer being included in its Disney+ subscriber total.
When removing the 35.9 million Disney+ Hotstar subscribers from last year’s 158.6 million total subscribers, the company ended the third calendar quarter of last year with 122.7 million, resulting in a year-over-year increase of around 8.9 million global subscribers.
While a good quarter in general for Disney+, the streaming service encountered a price increase in recent weeks. How much of an impact the price increase will have on the subscriber base during the current quarterly remains unclear.
