With the 2023 football season now underway, having access to streaming services and apps that carry football each week is important, and ESPN is one of those services and apps. The ESPN app not only unlocks access to linear ESPN content (requires an existing live TV plan and TV Everywhere support) but also ESPN Plus content as well.
With the ESPN app now available on Vizio TVs, owners won’t have to worry about looking for workarounds or using additional devices to access the app. The ESPN app is only available on 2016 and newer Vizio models and is accessible from the apps catalog on the Vizio Home Screen.
The availability of the ESPN app now makes it possible for smart TV owners to log in with their existing ESPN Plus subscription, or consider signing up to the sports-focused service without worrying about device support.
It also now means that Vizio TV owners can also take full advantage of the Disney Bundle. While Disney’s bundle combines pricing for Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and basic Hulu, subscribers still have to log in to each app separately. With the Disney Plus and Hulu apps already available on Vizio TVs, ESPN Plus now fills in that the Disney Bundle subscriber gap.
“With our expanded relationship with Disney, VIZIO audiences can now enjoy the ESPN app, ESPN+, and the Disney Bundle Trio, offering a wide selection of live sports and entertainment,” said Chris Tanquary, Senior Director of Business Development at VIZIO. “ESPN has helped revolutionize sports storytelling, and we’re excited to bring live sports from the best leagues and biggest tournaments as well as their ground-breaking originals to VIZIO’s millions of users.”
Earlier this month, Vizio introduced a new and custom-curated Football Kickoff collection to celebrate the start of the 2023 season. With football available to watch on ESPN, Vizio TV owners can now expect to see the new ESPN app showcased on Vizio’s football-themed collection.
