Frndly TV Subscribers Can Now Filter DVR Recordings By New Episodes

Frndly TV Delete episodes from My Stuff

An upgrade to Frndly TV‘s DVR makes it possible for subscribers to filter recordings by the newest episodes instead of most recently recorded. It would seem that this has been a highly requested feature, and while it is not exactly what customers requested, it should make managing recordings easier in the future.

According to Frndly TV, the feature subscribers wanted was the ability to set the DVR to only record new episodes instead of all episodes. Even though Frndly TV explained that “technical limitations” preventing it from offering this feature, the option to filter the DVR to only show new episodes is designed to provide as close of an experience as possible.

As the feature appears to have already rolled out, subscribers can now take advantage of the new filter by heading to My Stuff, clicking on Just Recorded and then selecting a show. After also selecting Browse All Episodes, subscribers should now see the option to select New Episodes Only from the drop-down menu.

As a reminder, only Classic and Premium subscribers get access to a DVR. Although both subscriptions tiers provide subscribers with an unlimited DVR, Classic recordings are stored for a maximum of three months while recordings made with the Premium plan can be kept for up to nine months.

If currently signed up to the cheapest Basic plan, upgrading to the Classic plan costs an additional $2 a month or $12 a year. Upgrading to Classic not only adds a DVR, but also upgrades the video quality from SD to HD and the number of simultaneous streams from one to two.
