What You Need to Know

  • Fubo has expanded its partnership with The Athletic by adding a new video hub.
  • The hub offers a range of The Athletic’s sports video programming, including full shows and shorter analysis.
  • The new hub also introduces additional advertising opportunities for brands.

In late 2024, Fubo and The Athletic agreed a multi-year partnership deal. The agreement was designed to promote and highlight each other’s products and services on their own platforms.

The new The Athletic Video Hub is the latest example of an expansion of that original agreement.

The Athletic is already a valuable partner in connecting with our shared audience of passionate sports fans, and streaming their coveted video content on Fubo is the next phase of our already successful collaboration,” said Yale Wang, executive vice president and head of marketing, Fubo.

Fubo’s The Athletic Video Hub is now accessible through a clickable content carousel on the Home screen. Once inside the hub, users will be able to check out The Athletic’s video coverage across a wide range of sports.

The programming lineup includes:

  • Full-length episodes of The Athletic’s most popular flagship shows: The Athletic Football Show, The Sports Gossip Show, Rates & Barrels, NBA Daily, The Tennis Podcast and No Offseason.
  • Short form commentary and analysis: game and season previews, x’s and o’s breakdowns, picks segments and more.
  • Major moment highlights: real-time reactions and analysis around the most important happenings in sports.

In addition to this on-demand content, Fubo also confirmed select video content from The Athletic will be available to watch on Fubo’s FAST channel, Fubo Sports Network.

The Athletic is one of the most trusted sources in sports media and we are proud to bring their leading coverage to streaming TV in a way that’s never been done before,” added Wang.

Along with providing viewers with more content, the new Hub is also being pitched as an additional advertising option for brands.

Advertisers will be able to utilize a variety of Fubo’s existing ad solutions, including home screen takeovers, interactive ads and custom branded content.
